12-Month Professional Acting Programme in French

A year-long intensive that replaces habits and tricks with a truthful, organic process, built on Meisner and Strasberg, for stage, screen and the industry.

Building the Foundation

We start by analysing your individual process, from page to stage, and identifying the habits, gimmicks and tricks that hold you back. Through Meisner and Strasberg you rebuild an organic process from the ground up. You learn to work any scene, in any language, with any partner, going in gut first rather than head first. The term ends with an in-house Scene Study showing.

Letting Go of the Plan

Using only your new tools, you let go of old habits and build a strong, realistic foundation. A camera enters the room to work on projection and calibration. Meisner frees you from the text and brings out subtext through the Real Thought. Strasberg opens emotional recall and the Song Exercise. The term ends with the filming of Film Scenes.

Character and Ensemble

You create characters while staying real and organic, through archetypes, animal work and the architecture of personality. Meisner deepens previous circumstances, emotional preparation and relationships. Strasberg develops affective memory and control of emotional flow. You then work as a company to stage a full-length play, ending in an in-house performance for a live audience.

Becoming a Professional

In the final term you refine your process and work on camera with a professional director, learning to take direction. Meisner’s Relationship Exercise tells a whole story without words. Strasberg gives you instant access to emotion. You train in audition technique, learn how the industry works, film scenes for your showreel and perform in a showcase for industry guests.

Movement and Voice

Alongside acting technique, weekly Movement and Voice & Speech classes train the whole instrument. You work on body awareness, impulse and physical character, breath, resonance and projection, and French diction from natural speech to classical verse. Every term matches the acting work, preparing you for camera, stage and the recording booth.
