How to apply
Auditions can be done both in person in Paris or through video submission. For either option, we ask that you prepare two contrasting monologues, ideally between 1-2 minutes long. We are interested in seeing:
a classical text in English (eg Shakespeare, Marlowe, Behn, Webster; or in an english translation, such as: de la Barca, Goldoni, Moliere, Corneille, Racine; Chekhov, Strindberg, or classical greek)
a modern play or screen monologue originally from any language, as long as it has been translated into English. Written between the 1950s and today
We don’t expect perfection! We want to see where you are to understand how GFCA can best help you meet your goals. The most important thing is that you are YOU.
In-Person Auditions:
You will meet with course-leader Theo von Bomhard and a second member of the team, who will discuss your goals and work with you on your audition pieces.
We expect the audition to last about 30-40 minutes.
Video Auditions:
Upload video files onto Swisstransfer or another free download site; or onto YouTube/ Vimeo (videos should be unlisted, or set to private).
Email us the link - we will review, and reply asap to set up a zoom meeting.
We don't need great video production quality - but please check that the quality is good enough for us to be able to hear and see you!
If a follow-up live audition-date is required, we aim to give at least 2 weeks notice.
